MARRAKECH, MOROCCO — On Thursday, 9 November, members of the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) announced the GGCA Innovation Forum: Alliance Building, Advocacy and Action on Gender & Climate Change taking place on Saturday, 12 November and Sunday, 13 November at the Université Cadi Ayyad. On Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, 2016, the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) is hosting the first ever 2016 GGCA Innovation Forum. The GGCA Innovation Forum will bring together grassroots leaders and gender experts from GGCA’s diverse and powerful network, alongside students, researchers, practitioners and decision-makers, to reflect on milestones in achieving gender-responsive climate policy, learn valuable skills and best practice for implementation, and look forward to real action on climate for women and men around the world.

Representatives from the GGCA’s 90+ member organizations, international and local students, researchers, and academics, gender and climate change experts and practitioners, partners who support this work or want to learn more.

The Forum will feature interactive panels and skillshare sessions with a variety of speakers including Mary Robinson (Former President of Ireland, Founder of Mary Robinson Foundation, Devi Jane Leiper O’Malley (Co-Director, FRIDA – The Young Feminist Fund), Liane Schalatek (Associate Director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America), Sam Bickersteth (Chief Executive, Climate & Development Knowledge Network), Ipul VIcky Powaseu (Chairperson, Pacific Disability Forum), Brandon Wu (Senior Policy Analyst, Action Aid), Wanjira Mathai (Director, Partnerships for Women Entrepreneurs in Renewables) and many more.
